The deputy's colleagues marked the occasion with a shout-out on social media, thanking Mulray for his service and friendship.

Deputy Chief Mulray joined the Philly fire company in December 1988, after a three-year stint as a SEPTA train engineer, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In April 2007, he was named Field Fire Battalion Chief, a role in which he developed the battalion's accident and injury prevention plan, and also chaired PFD's Safety Committee. Mulray made deputy in 2017, his profile says.
